If it were possible for the Christian to lose his salvation it would happen every day. Our failure to perfectly obey God would kill us were it not for the gospel, and yet this unending love found in Christ does not lead the child of God into an unending and relentless pursuit of sin.
The Christian loves God in so much that even though he still sins and his heart is below zero more times than he’d like to admit – his ultimate trust is in Christ finished work on his behalf, and his gratitude for Christ work leads him to live a holy life by the help of the Spirit. All the while fighting to forsake sin and by faith clinging to the King of kings.
