Christians are saved by faith. This faith was given to us as a gift from God and leaves us with nothing to boast about (Eph. 2:8, Rom 5:2). We are who we are only by the grace of God (1 Cor. 15:10), and we rejoice in the Lord over those truths. God is the creator we are the created called to trust Him by faith. As created begins, it is good for us to be dependent on our creator, for He alone is worthy of our sole allegiance.

At this point, I want to remind my readers of two verses I read this morning in the book of Proverbs. These two verses are fitting for us to meditate on because in them we have a power that all other kings and rulers wished they possessed. We have a word from the living God about His power, His rule, and His reign over all other powers.

In a time when evil men think they are gods and corrupt governments think they are Lord’s over their subjects (we the people), the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords has a word for His people and for His enemies.

We read in Proverbs 21:30-31 the following,

No wisdom, no understanding, no counsel can avail against the LORD. The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the LORD.

What comfort for the soul is this to the one who is trusting in the LORD. What relief these words are to the one who is not believing the false reality that the world and its rulers place before their subjects. Those of us who have been called to God by the grace of God are called to live by faith in the immutable God.

By faith, we believe that No wisdom, No understanding, and No counsel can avail agist the LORD can avail against the Lord.

This means the wisest men in our day and the most strategic plans agist the LORD are vainly put in place. These God-haters can do all the preparing they want to but in the end, the victory belongs to the Lord.

So child of God, rejoice in your being, for you have kissed the Son. The one who rules all beings has set His love upon you and you are beloved in His sight because of Christ.

On the other hand, those who are at war with God and His people ought to be reminded that their reign is a mirage and it is short-lived. Your failure to kiss the Son will result in your death (Ps.2). The Lord is not asleep. He sees your evil schemes and He is not moved. In fact, He is laughing at you.

Take heed, your time is coming to an end, and in light of that reality. I give you an invitation to come with me quickly as I introduced you to the King. Repent or perish. Your time is short.

Today, take time to preach these truths to your soul and meditate in the victory you have in Christ, and may we be found believing what God said, and not what we see.
