Psalm 92:12-15-“The righteous flourish like the palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon. They are planted in the house of the LORD; they flourish in the courts of our God. They still bear fruit in old age; they are ever full of sap and green, to declare that the LORD is upright; he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.”
The Church of Jesus Christ cannot be stoped. The Psalmist reminds his readers that the righteous flourish like a palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Do these words surprise you? If you are in Christ you are more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37). Do we not have the Spirit of life in us? Are we are born from above? If so, the wicked can attempt to stomp out or uproot the seed of God from this world but God says it will never happen. His Kingdom will expand.
Like the Palm trees, the righteous are continually green, flouring and producing fruit. See how our Lord has conquered the world thus far. What started with 12 disciples and one being the devil has now turned into millions of disciples.
Like the cedar tree, the church will continually grow strong and spread high and wide and will endure all the blows of the enemy. The word of the Lord will go forth and the nations will be won for Christ. The courts of the Lord will be beautified with His beloved saints. Even in old age, they will bear fruit, and increase because they are connected to the vine.
Those that are not connected to the source of life will fade away (The wicked will perish). Their memory will be lost forever, but the seed of the woman will have everlasting life and will spread. Why is any of this the case for the righteous? Because we have been planted by the Lord. We have been redeemed by the precious blood of the lamb.
The wicked will have their run of prosperity for a short while, but in the end, they will run out of breath.
The wicked may appear to be winning at the moment but in the end, their lives will be proven to be nothing more than a cheap magician’s trick.
In the end, the righteous will be vindicated and the fame of the Lord will spread on earth as it is in heaven. In the meantime, beloved keep abiding in the vine and watch God defeat His enemies, one by one.
